Sew A Gift is the dreamchild, founded by Dr. Shambavi Rajagopal, dedicated to crafting personalized gifts that convey heartfelt messages and strengthen relationships. Dr. Shambavi was addicted to creating handmade gifts for friends and family, to mark special occasions in their lives like a birth of a child or birthday/anniversary of their parents. She realised there were many people who would like to order such customized gifts. These are not just gifts, these are emotional connects. People retain these gifts and cherish them as they use them be it a luggage tag or a reading pillow or the mug rug.

Dr. Shambavi always wanted to focus on ensuring the sewing part, did not take more than 30-40 minutes though the embroidery time could be 90 minutes and prep time could be anything from 20-30 minutes. Having said this, the customer can take from 10 minutes to a couple of hours to take decision on how the gift should be created. The outcomes are based on discussions between the Sew A Gift team and the Customers who are referred to as ‘Friends of Sew A Gift”. The Text, choice of font, fabric colours embroidery are all of great importance and combining with the hobbies of the recipient, the gift that emerges is from their heart to their hands. With a passion for sewing and years of experience in creating customized items, Shambavi transformed her hobby into a thriving business.

Sew A Gift began as a collaborative effort in November 2016, with three friends united by a shared passion for sewing and creating personalized gifts. Though originally founded by Dr.Shambavi Rajagopal, Anitha Vinesh  and Geeta Vasudevan, the business is now solely run by Shambavi. Despite this change, the spirit of teamwork and creativity continues to drive the business forward.
